Senior Project

Last Wednesday was an emotional day at Imbler High School when Madi Burright's Senior Project was in full swing. Her project was to bring awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence and distracted driving. With the help of many including; Kevin Loveland, Becky Wilson, Officer Capers, Officer Hernandez, Chandra Bingaman, the Grim Reaper (aka Stan Terry), and parents and students, she made an impact. Throughout the morning, unsuspecting students were pulled from class to represent the "living dead". They then returned to the classroom in a cloak and face paint. At lunch, they lined the hallway as students were excused for lunch. The mood was very somber with the day culminating with an assembly which included guest speakers whose lives had been directly impacted by the effects of alcohol related accidents. It was very apparent that the project had an impact on students and created an opportunity to spark conversations around the dangers of drinking and driving and distracted driving. Good job, Madi!
