Clarification on Virtual Academy
Clarification on Virtual Academy

Good morning,

I'm going to try my best to provide clarifying information in response to questions regarding the Imbler Virtual Academy. I apologize for my inability to provide clear information in my prior correspondence. As mentioned, we are in partnership with the Intermountain ESD in providing this option. The ESD has hired the teachers for the academy, not Imbler School District. The secondary teachers are regional teachers who teach part-time while also working for an area school district. Two elementary teachers have been hired by the ESD - one will serve grades K-2 and the other will serve grades 3-6. All regional districts have similar agreements with the ESD, so students from around the region will be served by these teachers. I have confidence in the ESD and their ability to hire quality teachers to serve our students who may choose to attend the virtual academy.

I would ask that you have a bit of patience in this situation. As I write, I am also attending a conference call with area state legislators, county commissioners and superintendents are meeting with the governor and ODE representatives to discuss possible ways to get the recent mandates changed.

If you have questions or would like to visit with me about choices for your child, please feel free to call me at 541-534-2311 from 7:00-4:00 Monday through Thursday.
