Imbler School District will be closed for the foreseeable future due to Covid 19

March 13, 2020

Dear Parent(s),

“This is not fair!” – words from a fifth-grader as he walked down the hallway to class this morning. I can’t disagree with him. Unfortunately, we have been ordered to close school from March 16 through March 31. We are planning for students to return to school on April 1. However, this situation is very fluid. We will do our best to keep you posted. Our efforts will be through our Facebook page, our website, mass e-mails, and mass phone messages. The following is information we have for you at this time:

End of Quarter – The elementary school will be ending the quarter today. If students have incomplete work, they may submit it when we return and the grade will be changed from incomplete. The high school will be ending the quarter next Thursday. If students have missing work, they may submit via e-mail or bring it to the school. If students have any questions about assignments, they should contact their teacher directly through e-mail.

Lunches – The district will provide lunches to those students who desire it. If you would like lunch prepared, please e-mail the head cook. Tanya Corta at or text her at 208-402-3575 the evening prior to order your lunch, so that we know how many meals to prepare. The meal will be a grab and go.

Instruction – Elementary teachers are preparing materials for students to help maintain skills while students are away from the classroom. The materials will be in a variety of forms – worksheet packets, workbooks, and online instruction. Students have been allowed to take extra books from the library and Accelerated Reader has been opened for students to log in and take quizzes over the break.

Conferences – The district was scheduled to have parent-teacher conferences on April 2 and 3. The conferences have been canceled, and SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION APRIL 2 AND 3, assuming we are allowed to return.

Student Activities – Student activities are canceled. There will be no track or golf practice during this closure.

As I stated earlier, we will do our best to keep you informed as we are able to gather additional information.
